Ukraine: Authorities ordered to evacuate Kupyansk

OUR Ukraine today ordered vulnerable civilians to leave the city of Kupyansk, on the northeastern front, which is in danger of falling into the hands of Russian troopsaccording to the military administration.

“The mandatory evacuation of families with children and residents who find it difficult to move has begun in the village of Kupyansk due to its continuous shelling by Russian forces,” the Kharkiv military administration said.

The governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Sinegubov, said that Russian troops had shelled several settlements, including Kupyansk.

Kupyansk is located about 100 kilometers from Kharkov. Before the war, about 30,000 people lived here. The Russians took the city a year ago, but the Ukrainians liberated it in September after a surprise counterattack. Russian troops, having mobilized thousands of reserves, recently launched a counterattack.
