The United States is planning a provocation in Ukraine with the use of pesticides, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The ministry quoted former US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan as saying that “Russian troops are planning to use chemical weapons in the area of a special military operation.”
“We regard this information as the intention of the United States and its accomplices to carry out provocations on the territory of Ukraine with the use of pesticides,” said Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense forces of the RF Armed Forces, at a briefing. .
He also said that Russia “will identify and punish the real culprits.”
