“Savings on water,” Macron asked the French

“Economy on water,” President Emmanuel Macron asked the French on the occasion of his visit today to the annual exhibition of French agricultural products in Paris. A visit during which President Macron made statements but also argued with an environmental activist.

In particular, the President of France, due to the lack of rain that France has been suffering from lately, stressed that everyone should take measures to save water, avoiding waste and leaks.

On agricultural prices, Macron urged distributors and supermarkets to cut profit margins to help fight inflation.

He also said that some assistance to the agricultural sector would continue to offset rising energy prices.

Finally, while visiting the exhibition, the French president ran into a young French environmental activist who was wearing a T-shirt that read “Why are you?” and, speaking to him in a rather high tone, accused him of ignoring scientists’ warnings about climate change. Macron tried to answer, but the environmental activist prevented him from speaking. Macron told him that his behavior represented a form of urban violence, and the activist told him that he did not want to have a dialogue. The incident ended with the French president telling him that “since you don’t want dialogue, you’d better leave.”
