At least one unwary visitor to an art gallery in Miami tore apart a well-known work by famed artist Jeff Koons, which depicted a dog made from a balloon.
It was a blue porcelain sculpture on a pedestal that a visitor accidentally kicked, according to Bel-Air Fine Art Gallery of Contemporary Art, causing the artwork to fall and shatter.
The scandalous Koons, who is also a Greek lover, has a fanatical audience and collectors pay millions of dollars for his work.
The particular work of art was valued at $42,000, which is almost 39,300 euros.
The accident happened last Thursday when the collectors came to the gallery for an afternoon cocktail.

“The collector didn’t want to break the sculpture, she didn’t even touch it with her hands,” said Cédric Boero, head of the gallery’s department. “It was an opening cocktail party, there were a lot of people at our booth and she accidentally kicked the pedestal lightly, which was enough to make the sculpture fall.”
“Unfortunately, these things happen, so the project was fully insured,” he said.
