The American president met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and announced the provision of a new $500 million military aid package to Kyiv.
More details on the aid package will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, he said. The new package will include ammunition for US HIMARS weapons systems. Joe Biden stressed that the United States will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.
For his part, the Ukrainian president said, addressing his American counterpart: “Your visit is an extremely important gesture of support for all Ukrainians.” The Ukrainian president also said that he had discussed with Joe Biden the supply of long-range weapons.

Before his unexpected visit to Kyiv, Joe Biden traveled to neighboring Poland, from where he traveled by train to the Ukrainian capital. According to the announced schedule, the American president will arrive in Warsaw from Washington tomorrow, Tuesday morning, for a two-day visit.
There were rumors that an important person would arrive in the Ukrainian capital. Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk said earlier that “Ukraine’s main partners” plan to visit Kyiv today, without specifying details.
Sirens in Kyiv
It is noted that on Monday morning in Kyiv, as well as in most of Ukraine, against the backdrop of Biden’s visit, according to local officials, sirens sounded.
There are currently no reports of Russian missiles or airstrikes.
