Britain has offered assistance to other countries that want to send planes to Ukraine now, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said today, urging allies to maintain their support in the war against Russia.
Sunak has joined his predecessors, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, in providing significant support to Ukraine, including arming and training troops.
Britain has so far refused to send fighter jets, but Sunak said today that the country can help in other ways.
“Where other countries can immediately buy aircraft, the UK will be happy to support them in this,” he said at the Munich Security Conference.
The British Prime Minister also said that Western allies should think about how they can ensure that Russia pays for the reconstruction of Ukraine when the war ends, and said that the world community should recognize that a new framework is needed to maintain security in the long term. .
“From human rights to risky nuclear threats, from Georgia to Moldova, Russia commits one violation after another against countries outside the NATO collective security system,” he said.
“And the reaction of the international community was not strong enough,” the British prime minister said.
