US President Joe Biden tried to shed light on cases of downed flying objects over the United States and Canada in recent days, giving a press conference today.
Recall that within nine days, from February 4 to February 12, the US armed forces shot down four flying objects, three of them over the United States and one over Canada.
The most high-profile case of the four was the February 4 downing of a Chinese balloon over the Atlantic near South Carolina.
Recall, Beijing claims that it was a weather balloon that mistakenly entered US airspace. The American side, on the contrary, complains that the balloon was a spy balloon and, therefore, posed a threat to US national security and that is why it was shot down.
The remaining three objects that were shot down were, in all likelihood, balloons linked to “unscrupulous” private research projects that had nothing to do with espionage, the US president said today, specifying, however, that the US authorities have not yet established full clarity what kind of fallen objects they were.
Joe Biden also stated that there has not been a recent dramatic increase in the number of flying objects flying over the US.
However, the American President has since sent a message that any object that poses a threat to the safety of American citizens will be destroyed..
He even directed his “fire” towards Beijing, claiming that will not apologize for the decision that led to the downing of the Chinese balloon on February 4 over the Atlantic.
The American leader said that he was going to have a talk with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the near future, while referring, in particular, to Sino-American relations, he said that The US will continue to compete with China.
