
UN Under-Secretary-General for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths will visit Gaziantep in Turkey and Aleppo and Damascus in Syria over the weekend to assess needs and see how the United Nations can best step up its support, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said today.
Guterres also lobbied greater aid access to northwestern Syria which is controlled by the opposition.
“Roads are destroyed. People are dying. It is time to explore all possible ways to deliver aid and personnel to all affected areas,” he said. Guterres reporters in New York.
