According to the minister, 497 officials were fined, 124 were brought to disciplinary action.

The materials of internal inspections, which were used to detect violations by officials, have been handed over to law enforcement agencies, Reznikov added.

“My position was, is and will remain unchanged – zero tolerance for any violations. Every person whose guilt is proven by the competent authorities bears and will bear responsibility,” he wrote on Facebook.

The Ukrainian publication ZN.ua reported two weeks ago that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine purchased large batches of food for the army at inflated prices. Since then, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has opened an investigation into the alleged facts.

Reznikov’s deputy Vyacheslav Shapovalov was fired three days after the information appeared in the press.

In general, several high-ranking officials of Ukraine were dismissed last week, including five regional governors, four deputy ministers and two heads of state institutions, as well as the deputy head of the presidential administration and the deputy prosecutor general, as well as regional prosecutors.

On January 31, Reznikov announced that on June 29, an inspection of the process of military procurement had begun. Initial results in December showed that the public procurement system was flawed.

When the scandal erupted, Reznikov denied any wrongdoing, saying that anyone who leaked procurement documents had committed a crime.

Last week, there were rumors that even Reznikov would be dismissed this week in the context of the corruption scandal, instead, the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday approved the appointment of a new minister of internal affairs and head of the SBU, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. it is assumed that Reznikov will remain in office.
