OUR Britannia announced a new round sanctions at the expense of “members of his military elite Russia and his elite Kremlin“, including six organizations that provide military equipment such as drones for Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions also target eight individuals and one entity linked to financial networks that help “keep wealth and power among members of the Kremlin’s elite,” the government said in a statement today as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting the UK.
“Ukraine has shown Putin that it will not surrender to his tyrannical invasion. It responded with indiscriminate strikes against civilian areas and critical national infrastructure across the country,” Secretary of State James Cleverly said in a statement. “We couldn’t let him succeed. We need to increase our support.”
Over the past year, the UK has imposed sanctions on more than 1,300 individuals and entities in Russia.
