Zaporozhye plant, the largest in Europe, was occupied by Russian troops in March of last year, in the first days of the invasion. It remains close to the front lines and has been repeatedly attacked, raising fears of a nuclear catastrophe.
“The construction of structures and engineering structures intended for additional protection of important NPP infrastructure facilities, including those related to the storage of radioactive materials, is at the final stage,” Renat Karchaa from Rosenergoatom told TASS.
