
A 16-year-old girl was killed yesterday Saturday when a man attacked her. shark in a river Perth, Western Australia.
According to police, the unfortunate girl was pulled from the river with severe injuries and she died before being taken to the hospital.
A 16-year-old jumped off a jet ski to swim with dolphins that appeared in the Swan River and was attacked by a shark shortly thereafter, according to the ABC network.
The latest fatal attack in Western Australia occurred in November 2021 when a 57-year-old man was killed by a great white shark in Port Beach, Perth. A man was injured by a bull shark in the Swan River in January of that year.
More than 100 species of sharks live off the coast of Western Australia. However, it is not uncommon for sharks to appear in rivers a few kilometers from the coast.
On Australia’s east coast, popular Sydney beaches were closed last February after a swimmer was killed in a shark attack for the first time in nearly 60 years.
