Erdogan: “Sweden will be in shock” – a new concert of NATO intransigence

‘Sweden is in for a shock’, says Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoganin a new story about the intransigence of the accession of the Scandinavian country to NATOas his country enters the final round of elections in Turkey.

As Manolis Kostidis reported on SKAI TV, the Turkish President characteristically noted that “on the issue of joining NATO, Turkey can send a completely different message to Finlandand Sweden he’ll be shocked.”

“Have they destroyed Islam by burning our Koran? They just showed how dishonest they are,” Erdogan said, referring to the burning of the Koran by a far-right MP in Sweden.

The split between Finland and Sweden could be another tactical move by Erdogan to counter pressure from outside United States of America.

Former Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akarcommented that “unfortunately, even now we have not been able to get even what we paid for from countries that we believe are our friends and allies,” leaving a sharp displeasure to the US F-16.

“They said they would withdraw the terrorists from Finland and Sweden and we would lift the embargo. Now they are demanding from our parliament, they are waiting for approval to participate in NATO. We don’t say anything, we just say ‘do it right’, it’s that simple.”

“Against vile actions, against immoral and unworthy, burning the Koran, there is Turkey,” he added.
