At least 25 people died today when the bus they were traveling in fell off a cliff for unknown reasons in the Piura area north of Lima, police said.
Several people were also injured and taken to district hospitals in El Alto and Mancora, police said, without giving an exact number.
During the accident, several passengers were thrown out of the windows, and the rest were trapped inside the bus.
The Q’orianka Tours bus left Lima and was heading to Tumbes on the border with Ecuador. In a deserted area near the city of Organos, he turned off the road, and he had to cross almost 260 kilometers to reach his destination.
