Three people were killed in a shootout and four others were injured during a party hosted at a mansion near Beverly Hills, an affluent area of Los Angeles.
This tragic incident came as California was still reeling from two shooting incidents that killed a total of 18 people on January 21 and 23.
The three victims were found in a car parked outside. Four injured, two of them seriously, were hospitalized.
The house where the party was held is located in one of the richest areas of Los Angeles, where million-dollar houses compete for luxury.
Investigators believe that there was a meeting there, but do not yet know what it was, police officer Bruce Borrihan told reporters.
