Two people were hit by bullets today in an attack in the East Jerusalem area, Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA), a Red Cross counterpart, reported a day after the attack near a synagogue that killed seven people.
The MDA said it received a call at 10:42 a.m. reporting a “terrorist attack” in a Palestinian area near the Old City.
“A 23-year-old man is in a serious condition, another 47-year-old man is in a moderate to severe condition with bullet wounds to the upper body,” an MDA spokesman said.
“We quickly arrived at the scene and saw two victims of the armed attack,” MDA doctor Fadi Dekindek said in a statement. He clarified that the victims were conscious and taken to the hospital.
Israeli police announced that the suspect had been “neutralized”, without specifying whether he was injured or dead, and a spokesman said it was a “terrorist attack”.
The incident took place a day after a Palestinian militant opened fire, killing 7 people near a synagogue in East Jerusalem.
