Sending Western tanks to Ukraine will continue the country’s war with Russia, and if Washington and Moscow do not come to an agreement, the third world war will begin, said Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, who also ridiculed the statement of German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock about the “war against Russia” of the Western allies.

On Wednesday, Ukraine received news of a significant increase in its military arsenal, when Germany and the United States announced that they would provide Kiev with Leopard 2 and M1 Abrams tanks.

This will lead to a continuation of the war, the Croatian president told the press, according to the Croatian news agency HINA, citing Agerpres. All tanks, including Russian and American, burn equally, and the people sitting in them either die or manage to escape, Zoran Milanovych said.

“If Moscow and Washington do not agree, the world will slowly move towards the third world war”

The war in Ukraine will continue until Moscow and Washington somehow agree on its termination, which is difficult and far away, the president of Croatia believes.

Such discussions will not be consulted in Zagreb, Berlin, Paris, or Brussels, but if they do not take place, the world will begin to slowly move towards the third world war, he noted.

“Maybe Germany is at war with Russia. I wish them success this time, may it end better than 70 years ago.”

The Croatian president disapproved of German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, who allegedly told the Council of Europe that Western allies should be united because “we are waging war against Russia, not among ourselves.”

“Maybe Germany is at war with Russia. I wish them success this time, that everything ends better than 70 years ago, but we are not at war with anyone,” the Croatian president responded. “She (Annalena Berbok) tells us that we are all at war with Russia. No we, and America, are just pawns,” he concluded.

The vice president is the prime minister

While Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has been sympathetic to military support for Ukraine, President Zoran Milanović has spoken out against such support and in November rejected a proposal by the Zagreb government that his country participate in the training of Ukrainian soldiers as part of the EU’s military assistance mission. (EUMAM) to resist Russian aggression.

President Zoran Milanovych argued that this action would violate the Constitution of Croatia, as it does not clarify the grounds for declaring Ukraine an ally, since it is neither a member of the EU nor NATO.

Then, in December, Croatian lawmakers narrowly rejected a proposal for their country to join an EU mission to support the Ukrainian army after hours of heated debate that reflected deep differences between the country’s prime minister and president.
