
The Norwegian government is considering sending some of its German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, the Aftenposten and Dagens Naeringsliv newspapers in Oslo reported on Tuesday evening, Reuters writes.
As the newspapers report with reference to unnamed sources familiar with the situation, the decision to send heavy battle tanks has not yet been made.
According to Dagens Naeringsliv, Norway, a NATO member which in turn borders Russia, may provide four or eight of the 36 Leopard 2 tanks.
According to Reuters sources, the US and Germany are ready to give a significant boost to Kyiv’s military efforts by supplying heavy battle tanks. Moscow condemned this move as a “flagrant provocation”.
Washington was expected to announce as early as Wednesday that it would send M1 Abrams battle tanks, while Berlin decided to send Leopard 2 tanks, sources told Reuters, in a policy shift that Kyiv says will help turn the conflict around.

Two German media outlets, Spiegel magazine and NTV news channel, said Scholz, who will address a plenary session of the lower house of parliament at 12:00 GMT, could give the green light to countries including Poland and Finland. who want to deliver German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv.
