The fighting in eastern Ukraine is some of the most brutal of the war, and many of the footage emerging from the front are truly dramatic. In Donbas, in the trenches, Russians and Ukrainians ended up shooting at each other even from a short distance, and the pictures were taken from a drone.
The drone footage published by the Russia Today TV channel shows the moment when a group of Russian soldiers clears one of the trenches in Donbas. In one corner, a Ukrainian soldier is also depicted opening fire on one of the Russian soldiers hiding behind a mound of earth.
Continuing to fire, the Ukrainian soldier approaches the corner where the Russian soldier was hiding, continues to fire on the enemy until he reaches the corner and finds himself face to face with the Russian.
At this moment, the Russian soldier also opens fire, practically both soldiers shoot at each other from as close a distance as possible – the footage shows how the barrels of the two guns practically collide with each other.
The firefight is short: although the Ukrainian always shoots when approaching, he is eventually killed in the firefight, killing him at close range.
It is not clear whether the Russian serviceman was wounded or not, given the large number of shots fired by the Ukrainian serviceman, but the video then shows the Russian serviceman walking away from the scene of the firefight and regrouping with his colleagues.
