In addition, following the double refusal of Pfizer CEO Mr Burla to testify in the European Parliament, a special committee on Covid-19 is calling for sanctions against the pharmaceutical company, suspending its access to the European Parliament. The same committee is demanding that Pfizer CEO Albert Burle’s access to the European Parliament be suspended. This request will be considered by the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament (based on Article 123 of the EU Regulation), which will determine the details of a possible restriction of Pfizer’s access to the EU (eg in terms of time frames). and faces). The General Secretariat may, with the permission of the Deans, deny access to the EC to a registrant who, among other things, “refuses to comply with a formal invitation to attend a hearing or committee meeting, or fails to cooperate with a commission of inquiry without sufficient justification.”

Regarding the Covid Committee’s request to invite the president of the Commission to the hearing, according to the decision of the European Parliament, the invitation will be sent to the President of Parliament Roberta Metzola, who will then decide whether to invite Ursula von der Leyen to participate in the hearing. .
