An unexploded grenade was seized from the chest of a Ukrainian soldier, the country’s military doctors said.
Photos posted Monday on the Facebook page of Ukrainian military medics show an X-ray of the soldier’s upper body, as well as… a grenade.
The operation was fraught with danger. Doctors feared that the grenade could explode at any time during the operation. For this reason, the operation was carried out without special treatment, which stopped the bleeding with electricity.
According to the same post, the operation took place “in the presence of two pyrotechnicians who ensured the safety of the medical staff.”
Also, the operation was performed by one of the most experienced surgeons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General of the Medical Service Andriy Verba, it was successful, and now the soldier is recovering.
The grenade was of the VOG type, and Ukrainian military doctors did not specify when and where the operation was carried out and how the serviceman ended up with a grenade in his body.
