In a new video, which the Ukrainian military shared on social networks, it can be seen that Renault trucks began to be used on the front lines.

On Tuesday, footage appeared on social media showing a GBC 180 truck being used by the Ukrainian military as an ammunition transporter for the Pion 203-mm 2S7 self-propelled howitzer. Information is spreading on social networks that the video was shot near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

GBC 180 trucks are relatively new, entered service with the French armed forces in 1997. They have a carrying capacity of 5,000 kilograms, a working range of more than 800 kilometers and a maximum speed of 88 km/h.

Another video that appeared on social media in late December also captured a TRF1 155mm howitzer being towed by another Renault truck, model TRM 10000, near Bakhmut.

The EU has given Ukraine about 90 trucks since last summer, but those seen in the video were likely part of one of the direct military aid packages given to Kyiv by Paris, as were the VAB armored personnel carriers.

Among other things, France also sent to Ukraine the “Caesar” ACS and its short-range “Krotal” air defense system. At least one Caesar self-propelled gun was used in the attack, which wounded former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmytro Rogozin as he celebrated his birthday in a town near the front lines.

Most recently, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country would supply Ukraine with AMX-10 RC light armored combat vehicles to help in the war against Russia.
