Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk called on people living in the territories occupied by Russia not to attend religious services and not to visit crowded places during the traditional Orthodox Christmas holidays, reports The Kyiv Independent.

Orthodox Christmas on January 7 remains the main date for the celebration of Christmas for most believers, although in Ukraine they started celebrating Christmas on December 25.

“Ukraine received information that the Russians are preparing terrorist attacks in churches,” Vereshchuk said.

The Ukrainian OSINT group InformNapalm also reported receiving information about alleged attacks on churches in the illegally occupied territories of the Russians, the blame for which is planned to be blamed on Ukraine.

On Friday, shortly after Putin’s ceasefire order went into effect, airstrike signals began to sound across Ukraine after fighter jets reportedly took off in Belarus.

Shortly before that, two rockets hit the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. The city of Kherson was bombed on Friday morning, at least one firefighter was killed. France Presse reported that fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut.

The Russian army on Friday assured that it was abiding by the two-day truce that Moscow unilaterally declared in Ukraine on the occasion of the old-style Orthodox Christmas, but accused Kyiv of continuing the bombings, AFP and Reuters reported.
