Former pro-Russian separatist commander in Donbas Igor Girkin on Thursday mocked former Deputy Prime Minister and head of Roscosmos Dmytro Rogozin after Russian state media reported his wounding in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk on Wednesday night.
Girkin did this in a post that he shared on his Telegram channel entitled “Regarding the wounding of Mr. Rogozhin in the “region a little behind the back”.
“Dear partners from Kyiv once again demonstrated that they cynically do not intend to recognize anyone’s merits in the amazing preparation of the Russian Air Force for the current “special operations”. And despite the fact that Mr. Rogozin made a colossal contribution to our lack of information [culese] from space, even he was not allowed to celebrate his 59th birthday in a modest Shesh-Besh restaurant on the front lines,” Girkin notes.
We will remind you that before heading Roscosmos from 2018 to July this year, Dmytro Rogozin was the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia responsible for the coordination of the country’s defense industry for 7 years.
“If the Kremlin dwarves were capable of learning from the lessons of others, I would give them some advice in this regard. But you can’t teach them anything. Therefore, I have nothing more to add. It can be advised that “being on the front lines” spend time and rest not in Donetsk, but in restaurants in Rostov – for now it is safer,” wrote Igor Girkin.

What the Russian press wrote about Dmitry Rogozin’s injury
Russian state media reported on Wednesday evening that Rogozin and a pro-Russian official from the Moscow-occupied region were wounded in shelling by Ukrainians in the eastern city of Donetsk.
Rogozin’s adviser told the TASS agency that his life was not in danger, but he was taken to the hospital.
“In the suburbs of Donetsk, a hotel in which a group of military advisers headed by Dmytro Rogozin was staying was bombed. Dmitry was wounded in the back. He was taken to the hospital. His life is not in danger,” said the TASS consultant.
In addition to Rogozin, the head of the government of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Vitaly Khotenko, was also injured.
“Obviously, it was a targeted shot. Experts assume that it was fired at by a 155-mm self-propelled artillery system “Caesar” manufactured by the French company Nexter,” Rogozin’s adviser said.
The former head of Roscosmos caused a flurry of irony online, including on Russian social networks and Telegram channels, after he announced in late November that he was on the front lines and shared photos of him dressed head to toe in NATO gear.
