This is not the first incident
This is not the first time Kyiv has accused Moscow of attacking Ukrainian personnel of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. At the end of September, its director was arrested by Russian troops and released a few days later.
For months, Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of bombing the Zaporizhzhia plant near the front line, raising fears of a major nuclear accident.
According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russia has deployed 500 Russian troops in the vicinity of the plant.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the international community have repeatedly called for the demilitarization of the site, but so far without success. (Source Agerpres)
