A new video posted on social media captured intense fighting around the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut from inside a Ukrainian armored vehicle.
Footage taken from inside the BTR-3E armored personnel carrier, developed in the early 2000s by an international consortium with the participation of two Ukrainian arms companies, shows the heavy fire of the Kyiv military on the Russian attackers.

As is probably already known to those who follow the development of the war in Ukraine, the attacks in the direction of Bakhmut, a strategic city in the Donetsk region, are the only large-scale offensive by the Russian army against Ukraine after numerous failures. recorded in recent months, the culmination of which was the abandonment of the western bank of the Dnieper in Kherson.
On August 1, the Ministry of Defense of Russia officially announced the beginning of the battle for Bakhmut, however, despite certain successes recorded especially in the southern part of the attack direction, Russian troops have not yet managed to occupy the city, even after almost 4 months of fighting
In mid-October, Ukrainian defenders reported that Russian forces had begun attacking Bakhmut using kamikaze drones obtained from Iran, with some reports suggesting that Moscow had also redeployed troops withdrawn from Kherson, as well as troops deployed after the partial mobilization decree in Russia 21 September .
“Meat Grinder” in Eastern Ukraine
At the same time, mercenaries of the “Wagner” PMC, created by Yevhen Prigozhin in 2014, are conducting an offensive. On November 10, the Ukrainian troops reported that only a day later in the battles near the village of Bakhmut.
Three days later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi called the fighting in the Donetsk region “hell”.
“It’s just hell there – extremely fierce battles are going on there every day,” said the Kyiv leader about the struggle of Ukrainian defenders during repeated Russian shelling.
“It’s a meat grinder,” said Jakub Yanovsky, one of the military analysts who writes articles for the well-known website Oryx, about the battles near Bakhmut.
Intelligence sources suggest that despite the gains, Russian commanders are in some cases sending their soldiers to certain death by resorting to reckless tactics such as using regular troops for reconnaissance missions.
“Their task is to advance towards us, to force us to shoot at them to reveal our positions,” a Ukrainian military official told AFP reporters last month.
Zelenskyi also said last month that the tactic reflects the “madness” displayed by Moscow’s military command in its relentless efforts to capture Bakhmut.
“Day after day, for months, they send their people there to die,” he said in one of his speeches to the nation last week.
