British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is encouraging Ukraine to keep up the pressure on Russia and continue attacks on Vladimir Putin’s ill-prepared forces during the winter months, The Daily Beast reports.

“Given the equipment and quality advantage the Ukrainians have over the demoralized, ill-trained and ill-equipped Russians, it would be in Ukraine’s best interest to maintain this pace through the winter,” Wallace said.

“They have 300,000 pieces of winter combat gear from the international community,” a critical requirement for any winter offensive.

Britain’s defense secretary has praised Ukraine’s military for shocking the world by showing its own courage and skill, as well as the huge shortcomings of Russia’s armed forces.

Wallace suggested that it was time for Ukraine to take advantage, pointing to the disaster among the Russian military in an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast.

• “Recently, a Russian unit was deployed without food, socks and weapons. This is a disaster for anyone who enters the battlefield. They are a meat grinder, put them in a meat grinder and use a huge amount of artillery.
• “Only a nation that doesn’t care about its own people can send 100,000 of its people dead, wounded or deserting,” added Ben Wallace.
