The Russian air defense system in the city of Armyansk in the north of Crimea started working on Friday, the head of the local Russian occupation administration, Vasily Telizenko, said on his Telegram channel.
“Please remain calm, the air defense system is working,” he wrote.
Mr. Telizenko explained to TASS that the air defense system was operating near the city, while earlier only the distant sounds of explosions were heard in Armyansk.
“I checked all the services, talked, everything is fine, everyone is at their jobs and everyone is working. Some people are sitting there [στην Ουκρανία] that will shake the whole situation. Evacuation from Armyansk has not been carried out, is not being carried out and is not planned,” Mr. Telizenko said.
At the beginning of the week, Ukrainian Telegram channels reported about the evacuation from Armyansk due to shelling from Kyiv. Advisor to the Crimean leader Oleg Kryuchkov called these publications misleading.
The head of the Crimean occupation administration, Sergei Aksyonov, also stated that there was no evacuation from Armyansk, information about it was falsified by the Ukrainian authorities. At the same time, all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the security of the peninsula. He urged everyone to focus only on reliable sources of information.
