A new video appeared on social networks, in which Ukrainians find an abandoned Russian armored car in Kherson, and other videos contradict Moscow’s official version of the withdrawal from the western bank of the Dnieper.

One of the footage shows Kyiv soldiers pulling a BMP-2 combat vehicle out of the water, with several prominent observers of the war in Ukraine claiming it was found in the Kherson region, where the Russian Defense Ministry ordered it to be removed last Wednesday.

In another video, it can be seen that Ukrainian troops also recorded a BM-21 Grad rocket launcher in relatively good condition.

Several photos posted on social media by the Ukrainian military show other captures: an Msta-B 152mm howitzer, a T-62M tank, and a BMD-2, although the latter doesn’t just look in good condition.

Kyiv forces have also received several trucks left behind by the Russian army, but they need to be repaired before they can be used.

In some areas on the western bank of the Dnieper, the Ukrainian military also seized boxes of ammunition, which the Moscow soldiers left behind during the retreat.

At the Chornobayivka military airport near Kherson, the Ukrainian army managed to recapture the Mi-24 helicopter, which its own aviation left behind during the Russian offensive in February.

The administrators of the OSINTtechnical page say that it is most likely not working, but it will be usable for parts. Also, at the Chornobayivka airfield, the Ukrainian military seized the Mi-9 aviation command post, which is also of limited combat capability.

Other photos and videos shared on social networks indicate that this airfield near the capital of the Kherson region has become a real “cemetery” of Russian military equipment.

The Russians’ version of the retreat from Kherson

In Moscow’s first official response since the collapse of the Antoniv bridge, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced last Friday afternoon that the withdrawal from Kherson had been successfully completed at 05:00 Moscow time.

“Today at 05:00 Moscow time in the Kherson direction, the transfer of units of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper was completed,” said the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, during the daily briefing. Protection.

He emphasized that “no military equipment and weapons were left on the right bank” and “losses of personnel, weapons, military equipment and material resources of the Russian army group were not allowed.”

Konashenkov, who was promoted by Vladimir Putin in June, also stated that “civilians who wanted to leave the right bank of the Kherson region were given assistance in their evacuation.”

“Compounds and military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation occupied defensive lines and positions prepared in advance from an engineering point of view,” the Russian general also said.

It is reported that the Russian army has lost a record number of soldiers and military equipment in the south of Ukraine

Although the images that appeared after the Russians left openly contradict the statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the evacuation of all Russian military equipment from the west bank of the Dnieper, it should be noted that the number of Ukrainians captured appears to be much lower than during the chaotic retreat of the Russians from Kherson.

But images and footage that have appeared on social networks in recent days show a huge amount of Russian equipment destroyed during the retreat or as a result of Ukrainian strikes.

In a tally of Russian casualties released on Sunday, the Ukrainian military said Moscow’s forces had lost a record number of nearly 10,000 soldiers and hundreds of combat vehicles during the fighting and retreat from the south of the country over the past two weeks.

However, as always, it should be remembered that these figures cannot be independently confirmed and that the information war is being waged on both sides.
