Anton Herashchenko, a high-ranking Ukrainian official, posted a photo on Twitter that is “worth a thousand words” of the situation in the city of Kherson, where the Russians destroyed the electricity system before leaving after eight months of occupation.
“Six days without light. On the main square, people are charging their phones from a generator brought by a volunteer,” Gerashchenko wrote on Twitter.
Instead of a thousand words.

Russian troops withdrew from Kherson a few days ago after eight months of occupation, which allowed the Ukrainian military to enter the city last Friday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian troops destroyed critical infrastructure in Kherson before leaving, and local authorities are beginning to stabilize the city.
“Before winter, the Russian occupiers destroyed absolutely all critical infrastructure,” Zelensky said in a speech that was broadcast on Monday evening after visiting the city of Kherson.
The UN also drew attention to the fact that in Kherson there are problems with water and electricity supply, there is not enough medicine in sanatoriums, and there is no food in shopping centers.
Ukraine’s national energy operator Ukrenergo also said on Monday that Russia had destroyed a key power plant in Kherson before its troops were withdrawn from the city and the right bank of the Dnieper last week.
