The Ministry of Defense of Russia published on Tuesday a list of monetary awards that will be received by Russian military personnel who, during the conflict in Ukraine, manage to destroy the weapons of the Ukrainian military or neutralize a large amount of them, rewards from 50,300,000 rubles (from 800 to 5,000 euros), reports EFE agency quoted by Agerpres.
Thus, those who destroy drones, armored personnel carriers, S-300 anti-aircraft systems or volley fire systems of the Ukrainian army will receive 50 thousand rubles.
The reward increases to 100,000 rubles for Russian soldiers who destroy tanks, and reaches a maximum of 300,000 rubles for shooting down Ukrainian fighters.
Russian soldiers who contribute to the withdrawal of a large number of Ukrainian troops from the battle receive a bonus of up to 100,000 rubles.
The initiative of the Russian Ministry of Defense is part of a series of measures aimed at increasing the morale and motivation of Russian troops participating in the war in Ukraine.
The lack of motivation largely contributed to the poor performance of the Russian army, which in the first days of the invasion, which began on February 24, managed to occupy significant Ukrainian territories, but in the meantime was forced in the face of Ukrainian resistance or counterattacks to withdraw from several fronts, first around the capital Kyiv, then from the north-eastern district of Kharkiv region and recently from the north of the southern province of Kherson region.
