“Statements by the mass media and Polish officials about the alleged dropping of “Russian” missiles near Przewodov are a deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation. No target near the Ukrainian-Polish state border was hit by Russian weapons,” the Ministry of Defense in Moscow said.

The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the images of remains from the site published by the Polish press have nothing to do with Russian weapons.

Two people were killed Tuesday in Poland by Russian missiles or missile fragments that fell on the territory of the NATO member state.

The explosions were supposed to have occurred on Poland’s border with Ukraine after Russia carried out a massive bombing raid on Ukraine on Tuesday, including in Lviv, a city near the border with Poland.

Missiles – or, according to some sources, fragments of a missile – could have hit the farm.

Polish media showed images of a deep impact into the ground and an overturned agricultural machine at the scene near Przewodów. As Radio Zet reports, firefighters confirmed that there were two explosions in the Przewodovo area. According to the same source, two military planes were supposed to take off from the Tomaszów-Lubelski airport at that time, but Radio Zet clarifies that this is unofficial information4.

The governments of Poland and Hungary convened emergency meetings of their national security and defense councils.
