Evangelical Church pastor from the People’s Republic Congo was arrested by police in northern Congo-Brazzaville on charges of killing his 21-year-old son because, he claimed, “God told him.”
This man, calling himself “Pastor Galako”, killed his child, a high school student, last Wednesday. According to eyewitnesses who spoke to AFP, he cut his throat with a knife because he “heard the voice of God asking him to make a great sacrifice to become strong.”
Two members of his church are also detained by the police as his accomplices.
Classmates of the murdered young man tried to take the law into their own hands and came into conflict with the police, who tried to stop them. At least two people, a student and a fishmonger, were killed and nine others were wounded by bullets.
The police are investigating the case.
