
Thirteen people have died in a cafe fire in the Russian city of Kostroma, about 300 kilometers from Moscow, local authorities said today.
“According to the first data, 13 people were injured in the fire,” Governor of the region Sergei Sitnikov said on the Telegram social network.
The fire that broke out last night in the Polygon cafe was extinguished early in the morning, the governor explained, who reported five victims.
According to emergency services, the fire spread to an area of 3,500 square meters.
The RIA-Novosti news agency, citing a police source, said 250 people had been evacuated from an apartment building that housed a cafe where a fire broke out.
