The administration of the city of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region, introduced by Moscow, issued an order “forbidding the sale of alcoholic beverages to soldiers” from Wednesday.

Also, cafes, bars, shops and food stalls can work only until 19:00.

A similar ban was introduced at the end of October in Russian-occupied areas of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian news agency RBC also notes.

On the territory of the city where the ban was imposed, the Novokakhovskaya HPP is located, vital for the Crimean peninsula’s water supply, illegally annexed in 2014 and controlled by the Russians.

Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of preparing an attack on the hydroelectric power station, and pro-Russian authorities have evacuated 70,000 people due to fears of a possible attack on the hydroelectric power station, which will flood most of the Kherson region.
