
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said tonight that he had discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart Mr. Vladimir Zelenskyshipment of grain to African countries, starting from Russia announced that it is returning to an agreement on the export of food products from Ukrainian ports.
In an interview with the Turkish ATV channel, Erdogan said that the Russian President Vladimir Putin He had previously suggested sending grain to countries like Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan first, noting that people were starving there.
“The situation there is not good at all. If problems arise in other African countries, we will carry out these missions. We discussed this with Zelensky tonight,” the Turkish president said.
Erdogan also said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has changed his stance and now says common ground with Putin needs to be found to end the war in Ukraine.
