British authorities have repeatedly denied these allegations, accusing Moscow of trying to “distract attention” from its military failures in Ukraine.

The involvement of British special services in the attack on Russian ships in the Black Sea at the end of October and in the sabotage of gas pipelines in September “of course there is no doubt”, said the spokeswoman of Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova. .

“The British ambassador will be summoned and the necessary elements will be handed over to him (…). The public will be informed about the elements that will be handed over as evidence to the British side,” added Zakharova.

Russia also blames Britain for gas pipeline explosions

The Kremlin blames the United Kingdom for the explosions that damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in September, pipelines built to deliver Russian gas to Europe.

The Russian military also claims that “British experts” are involved in Saturday’s Ukrainian drone attack on their fleet in Sevastopol, Crimea.

So far, Moscow has not released any evidence to support its accusations.

Russia’s statements “more and more depart from reality”

The head of British diplomacy, James Cleverley, assessed on Monday that Moscow’s statements are “more and more out of touch with reality” and are aimed at “distracting the attention of the Russian people from Russia’s failures on the battlefield.”

Relations between Moscow and London, very tense for several years, are in a state of crisis after the beginning of the Russian military offensive against Ukraine.

London has provided significant support to Kyiv and is involved in Western sanctions against Moscow.
