Theme park Disney Resort in Shanghai suddenly suspended his work to carry out his preventive measures COVID-19however, all visitors who were at the venue at the time of the announcement were asked to remain in the park until they were tested for coronavirus.
The management company announced this morning that it is immediately closing the main park and surrounding areas such as the shopping street until further notice in order to comply with virus control measures.
Shanghai authorities have stated on their official WeChat website that the park prohibits public entry and exit and that all visitors inside the site will have to wait for the results of diagnostic tests before they can leave.
Anyone who has visited the park since October 27 will have to be tested for COVID-19 three times over three days, according to the announcement.
According to social media posts, the theme park continues to operate some rides for guests who stay in the park while it is closed.
A spokesperson for Shanghai Disneyland said the theme park continues to offer limited services and that the company is taking action in line with advice from Chinese health authorities.
The resort announced on Saturday that it has begun operating with limited staff to comply with COVID measures.
On October 30, 10 cases of local transmission were reported in Shanghai, all asymptomatic.
Development is another concern for Shanghai Disneyland, which was closed for more than three months during the Shanghai lockdown earlier this year.
The park was also closed for two days last November, with more than 30,000 visitors locked up after authorities ordered everyone to be tested.
Local authorities across China continue to implement extreme measures to prevent any possibility of transmission of the virus once cases have been identified, in line with the country’s very strict zero-tolerance approach to COVID-19.
An all-in-one resort in the capital Beijing reopened today after a five-day suspension also imposed due to COVID-related measures.
