Spending on sedatives increased by 56%. In nine months, the production of antidepressants increased by 24%, sedative drugs – by 21%.

According to the Public Opinion Foundation, Russians’ anxiety has increased sharply since September 18, three days before Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization.

The peak of anxiety fell on the week from October 2 to 9, the Russian publication notes.

Pharmacies do not have the most popular antidepressant

Antidepressant Zoloft has stopped being delivered to Russian pharmacies due to technical problems during its production, the company Viatris reported, without specifying when the supply of drugs will resume, RIA Novosti reports.

“Due to technical problems at the production of a third-party manufacturer of finished products, deliveries to the Russian Federation of the drug “Zoloft (sertraline) film-coated tablets, 100 mg in tablets of 28 and 50 mg” have been temporarily suspended,” the message reads. the statement says.

The press service of Viatris also emphasized that the temporary suspension of supplies has nothing to do with the quality, safety and effectiveness of the drug.

Zoloft is among the top three most popular antidepressants in Russia due to the minimal number of side effects.
