Today, US and Israeli Presidents Joe Biden and Isaac Herzog held talks, which mainly concerned the issue of Iran, Tehran’s nuclear program and the supply of Iranian weapons to Russia.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Duke said both he and Biden would attend the summit. KS27 on climate change, which will take place in Egypt next month.

Biden is expected to attend her meeting. G20 in Indonesia in November.

Biden sought to negotiate Iran’s return to the Tehran International Nuclear Agreement (JPCOA), from which the US withdrew during Donald Trump’s presidency. But last week, the White House said it was putting diplomacy aside for the time being and accused Tehran of supplying Russia with drones used in the war in Ukraine.

After the meeting, Herzog told reporters that he had discussed this issue with Biden, namely that Iran is sending weapons to Russia that kill Ukrainian citizens. He added that they also discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the Iranian government’s crackdown on protests.

The President of Israel recalled that today marks 40 days since the death of the young Iranian Mahshi Amini. Her death sparked protests that are still ongoing in many Iranian cities.

“This is an example of how Iran is suppressing its citizens by promoting (its) nuclear weapons program and supplying (Russia) deadly weapons that kill innocent civilians in Ukraine,” he said.

Biden, for his part, commented on the signing of an agreement between Israel and Lebanon to define their maritime boundaries. “I think this is a historic crossroads. It took a lot of courage on your part to take this step, and courage, and I think it took persistent diplomacy to do so,” the US president said.

During his two-day visit to Washington, which began Tuesday, Herzog also met with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
