The military aid provided to Ukraine by NATO “brings the alliance closer to the dangerous limit of a direct military confrontation with Russia,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday, Russian news agency TASS reports.

Zakharova said on Thursday that the supply of weapons to Kyiv by the European Union makes the bloc a party to the conflict in Ukraine, and the countries that supply weapons to Ukraine are “sponsors of terrorism,” Reuters reported.

“NATO countries, as if competing with each other, continue to supply the Kyiv regime with weapons and ammunition, provide it with information, train the soldiers of the Kyiv regime, provide leadership in the conduct of hostilities, thus approaching the dangerous line of direct military conflict with Russia,” Zakharova said.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova repeated Moscow’s aggressive criticism of the West for sending billions of dollars worth of advanced weapons to Ukraine to help Kiev defend itself against Russia’s eight-year military campaign on Monday at a briefing in Moscow.

Zakharova clarified that, according to the latest data, the West’s total military aid to Ukraine has already reached 42.3 billion dollars, of which 28.3 billion are US dollars.
