We are talking about the Mi-24 helicopter, nicknamed the “flying tank”, which belongs to the Air Force of Ukraine.

The helicopter flies so low over the road that it is not detected by enemy radars, which cannot distinguish it from traffic. In addition, the road is a natural corridor for aircraft flying at very low altitudes.

Theoretically, Ukraine had about 35 Mi-24s before the invasion, and received a few more from the Czech Republic. Currently, according to visual confirmations centralized by Oryx, Ukraine has lost 3 Mi-24s (2 of them are the Mi-24P variant).

According to Oryx, the Russians also lost 3 Mi-24s. (Note that currently there is visual confirmation of 15 helicopters lost by the Ukrainians and 54 lost by the troops of Vladimir Putin’s invasion).

The Mi-24 is a large attack helicopter that can also serve as an additional troop transport, designed for 8 passengers.

The images of the Mi-24 are not isolated, other videos of Ukrainian helicopters flying at a very low altitude along highways and roads have also been published on social networks:
