Two Israelis were wounded by bullets tonight at a checkpoint in the occupied East Jerusalemreported the police, referring to the “terrorist attack”.
Another man, whose nationality was not specified, was wounded by shrapnel, according to Magen David Adom (Mada), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross.
A police spokesman said in a statement that “a terrorist shot and killed two Israelis, seriously injuring them” at a checkpoint near the Suafat Palestinian refugee camp.
The victims are about 20 years old. “This is a woman who is hospitalized in critical condition and a man who is in serious condition,” Mada said. The third victim received first aid on the spot, he added, without going into details.
Police are looking for a suspect who fled the scene. A helicopter and special forces were involved in the search. The area has been cordoned off by police, and dozens of officers have been deployed around the outpost and inside the refugee camp.
