In March, Ovsyannikova appeared behind TV presenter Ekaterina Andreeva on an evening news program on Russian TV Channel One, holding a “No to War” banner.
Then the journalist was arrested, and the next day she was fined and released. Then he left for Germany.
In July, upon her return, she was fined twice under the article “Slandering the military” for an anti-war post on Facebook and for speaking to journalists.
In mid-August, the journalist was placed under house arrest on charges of spreading “fake news” about the Russian army and participating in an anti-war march in front of the Kremlin. On October 1, her ex-husband announced that she had escaped from house arrest with her daughter.
Ovsyannikova’s lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov told Novaya Gazeta.Europe that he knew nothing about the possibility of his client’s escape.
