Ukraine: NSDC emergency meeting Kremlin: Official annexation of four regions tomorrow

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called an emergency meeting of top security and defense officials for tomorrow Friday, his spokesman said.

OUR Sergei Nikiforov announced an emergency meeting on Facebook after the Kremlin said the Russian president Vladimir Putin will sign formal agreements tomorrow Friday which will announce the annexation of four Ukrainian regions by Moscow after the fake referendums it organized, characterized by Kyiv and the West.

“President Volodymyr Zelensky has called an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for tomorrow. The agenda and other details will be announced later,” Nikiforov said.

Kremlin: Official annexation of four regions tomorrow

Tomorrow, in a special ceremony, Moscow will announce the official annexation of the four occupied regions of Ukraine where referendums were held. Tomorrow signatures will be signed for the unification of new territories and the president Insert will deliver a speech, the Kremlin said in a statement.

Kremlin representative, Dmitry Peskov, said that Putin is expected to meet with Moscow-appointed leaders of these regions. Recall that referendums were held in the regions Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye as well as Kherson.

The votes have been branded as illegitimate by the West, and Putin’s decision to integrate the regions into Russia means Moscow is annexing vast tracts of land in eastern and southern Ukraine, about 15% of Ukraine’s total territory.

Russian-backed officials in four regions of Ukraine controlled by Russian forces said the referendums showed their populations overwhelmingly voted to join Russia.

Residents who have fled to Ukrainian-controlled areas in recent days have said officials “appointed” by Russia carried ballot boxes from house to house, and people were forced to baptize ballots in the street at gunpoint.

“They can announce whatever they want. No one voted in the referendum, except for a few people who switched sides. They went from house to house, but no one came out,” said O. Lubomyr Boyko43 years old, from Golo Piera village in Russian-occupied Kherson region.

Russia says the vote was voluntary, in accordance with international law, and that turnout was high. However, referendums and impending annexations were universally rejected.
