Mehmet Oz has always been a man of many houses (ten to be exact) and many faces, Turkish and American. Today, he dismisses concerns about his dual citizenship as an injustice and an accident at birth.
This simply reflects his arrogance, as he believes that his audience is no smarter than the average Imam Hatip graduate (unknown, religious, Muslim educational institution) or the average consumer of products like snake oil (unknown, oil) that he was trying to sell. . sell for a long time.
After all, Mehmet Oz voluntarily returned to Turkey for military service in order to retain Turkish citizenship, and then voted in Turkish elections.
While most Turkish Americans consider themselves to be on the more secular side of Turkey’s political spectrum, Oz has taken a similar approach to (aka Turkish businessman) Cuneyt Zapsu: he has either not realized how bigoted, Islamist and corrupt Recep Tayyip Erdogan is. ..or, more likely, he just wanted his share of the loot. Karma, however, does not like such cynicism, and karma is about to hit Oz hard..
While Oz may run (i.e. for a Senate seat in the upcoming midterm elections in November) in my home state Pennsylvaniaresidence of his choice New Jersey. Until last year, he voted in New Jersey.
The United States maintains not only a volunteer army, but also a strong Police. This National Guard program has an internal dimension and another international one.
The National Guard of each state of the USA cooperates (c.s. partners) with at least one foreign country.
Now that the United States Cyprus military embargo liftedThe US National Guard may take part in joint exercises with Cypriot National Guard. The Pentagon classifies the state where Oz has lived his entire life as New Jerseyto be a partner of Cyprus.
Now Oz can tell what it’s from Pennsylvaniabut that’s like saying that northern Cyprus is part of Turkey.
This confusion about states, borders and geography seems to be an exclusively Turkish disease.
After Oz is defeated and returns home, he may be able to focus his medical research on why so many Turkish nationalists are so confused by the maps.
And perhaps, as an American patriot, although he volunteers to campaign for a foreign dictator, he can cheer up his friends and neighbors in New Jersey how will they work to strengthen it defense of Cyprus against all international invaders.
