Commission President Ursula von der Leyen traveled to Ukraine for the third time since the beginning of the invasion.
As she highlights in her Twitter post, “to Kyiv, during my third visit since the start of the war with Russia. So much has changed. Ukraine is now a candidate for the EU. I will be discussing with Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Denys Smichal how to continue to bring our economies and peoples closer together as Ukraine moves towards membership.”

In connection with the meeting with the President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Commission was awarded the 1st degree Order of Yaroslav the Wise.
As he indicated, he accepts it on behalf of the citizens of the European Union.
