At least one person has been killed and six injured in Russian shelling that has caused new power and water problems in Kharkiv, Ukraine today, officials said.
The Ukrainian Army General Staff said Sunday its forces recaptured more than 20 towns and villages from Russian troops as the Ukrainian counter-offensive in the country’s northeast continues.
As a result of strikes by Russian troops, a 37-year-old man was killed, six more were injured, including an 18-year-old girl, Kharkiv Governor Oleg Sinekhubov said on Telegram.
“The situation of last night is repeating itself. Because of (Russian) wounds […] the supply of electricity and water has been cut off,” Mayor Igor Terekhov said.
A Reuters correspondent reported that electricity was restored in the afternoon at least in the center of Kharkiv, but added that loud explosions could be heard several kilometers away.
