The armed forces of Ukraine attacked the Russian invasion forces along the entire front, the leader of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechinyk, said on Thursday, citing TASS.
“The situation is very tense. The enemy launched an offensive along the entire front. Practically today, it is located on the borders of the LPR,” Pasechinik warned.
At the same time, he assured that “there is no reason to panic.”
“Today we guarantee the security of our borders. Therefore, I declare with confidence that the enemy’s attempted counteroffensive will still be stopped, defeated by our troops, and we will continue to clear the territory of the republic from Ukrainian nationalists,” he added.
His comments came a day after Serhii Gaidai, the Ukrainian governor of Luhansk, said Russian troops had returned to some towns in the region they had abandoned during the chaos caused by the collapse of the front in neighboring Kharkiv Oblast.
Donetsk separatists are also worried about the situation at the front
On Monday, the leader of the separatists of the so-called “DPR” Denys Pusilin, in turn, warned that the situation at the front is not easy.
“The situation remains difficult. The enemy is trying to damage critical and civilian infrastructure,” he said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel. He accused the Ukrainians of “massive bombing” and storming of the city of Liman, located in the district he heads.
He also said that “forces are advancing”, without clarifying whether they are Russian or Ukrainian.
Also on Monday, Russian military journalist Oleksandr Sladkov said that people in two separatist entities in eastern Ukraine “fear they will be abandoned” by Moscow forces after the chaotic withdrawal from Kharkiv and the relinquishment of territories seized around Kyiv in the first phase of the war. .
“I have about 20 things about flaws, but I won’t voice them now. It’s hard, it’s hard,” he emphasized.
