At least eight people have died and seven more are in hospital following a fire at an electric motorcycle exhibition in the southern Indian city of Secunderabad, local police said on Tuesday.
The fire broke out late on Monday in the basement of the hotel where the exhibition was held, according to local police, who added that the fire had been brought under control.
“When the fire started, there were electric mopeds inside. We don’t know if it was caused by overcharging and then extended or caused by another reason. The investigation is ongoing,” local police commissioner Chandana Depti told Reuters.
